… is one of the most courageous endeavours you can undertake.
Being ‘me’ is a choice I make constantly… Sometimes I feel good and motivated and at other times…
I feel exhausted!
In a world where we are growing, we are taught ‘to please’ … that showing up and being true rubs others the wrong way… The fact that you want to be real and show up without the social mask is a VERY courageous and brave effort!
I grew up needing to prove myself constantly. My father would not accept anything unless I proved myself. If I failed there was always the threat of being hit or severely punished
And What I wanted to receive was love and belonging.., what I got was threatening and dangerous…
Now I know it is not that extreme for most of us, however, we all living is a system that wants us to conform and to be everybody else – BUT you.
So it has been and still is… a choice I make… constantly… and at times I’m real … and at others…especially when I feel any sense of shame … fear or doubt … I fall back into showing up as to how you need me to be… in less than a blink of an eye…
When I feel self-doubt creep in… I need to be aware. My default move is to drop my soul like a hot potato and I be what you want me to be… And on top of that, I judge myself for selling myself out.
Why do I do it?
I do it to be loved and to be appreciated.
Where did I learn to do that?
As a very young child. That’s what we do when we are little because we want to feel love and we want to belong… It is a way of surviving
IS THAT SO BAD?
No… Not at all…
So my dear readers
- your heart – take courage (from the french word for heart)
- self acceptance, love compassion
The funny thing is … my path led me to see that it is exactly my vulnerability that allows me to be connected to others. When I close up to protect myself – I lose connection.
And in my profession which is all about guiding and helping others… exactly on this path… wow.. I am constantly practising self-love.
The more I do…The more I love others…The more I love The Creator and the more connected I feel to all of life…
You are beautiful exactly as how you are…Right Now.
And sharing your truth is the biggest gift you can bestow on your beloved.
